Mr. Bode Agoro, a lawyer, an Administration and Human Resource Practitioner, a Public Sector Strategist and a Public Speaker, possesses core competence in the fields of Strategic Human Resource Management, Conflict Resolution, Strategic Policy Formulation, Effective Task and Project Management, Change Management, Real Estate Management and Petroleum Law and Policy. He commands great leadership and effective communication skills both in writing, as well as oral.

  1. He had over seven (7) years Private Sector experience under his belt, prior to joining the Lagos State Public Service where he has garnered over twenty-one (21) years Public Sector experience. Over the years, he has deployed his management skills and strategies in achieving organization’s objectives both in the Corporate and Government Agencies where he has worked. He is an advocate of Employees’ Wellness, Well-being and adequate Training, and an Initiator of the monthly Walk for Fitness Exercise for Lagos State Public Servants.
  2. Joining the Lagos State Public Service, he was deployed to serve in the Directorate of Land Services in Lands Bureau and rose to become Director, Land Regularization, a position he held for eight (8) years before his appointment as the Permanent Secretary of Lands Bureau in August 2015, based on his exceptional performance. He served as the Permanent Secretary, Lands Bureau for eight (8) years and was appointment as the 22nd Head of Service in Lagos State in September, 2023.
  3. Through his transformational leadership ability, he has been able to achieve the following, as the Head of Service:
    i. monthly work for fitness exercise for Public Servants in the State, the inaugural which was held on Saturday, 27th January, 2024;
    ii. obtained approval of Mr. Governor for the purchase and subsequent allocation of 170 vehicles to Chairmen and Members of Statutory Commissions/ Boards, Heads of Agencies and Substantive Directors in Lagos State Public Service;
    iii. secured approval of Mr. Governor for a 100% increase in subvention of the staff canteens for improved operations and enhancement of quantity and quality of food served;
    iv. embarked on physical inspection of the existing Staff Quarters to determine their current status and secured approval to construct several blocks of flats to add to the current stock of housing for Public Servants;
    v. instrumental in restoration of 25% of Basic Salary Core Establishment Incentives in all core establishment MDAs in the State Public Service;
    vi. instrumental in securing approval for downward adjustment of amount payable on boarding of personalized vehicles in Lagos State Public Service;
    vii. instrumental in securing increase in allocation of Car Refurbishment Loan from N100 million to N1 billion naira;
    viii. secured approval for increase of housing loan from N100 million to N1 billion naira;
    ix. secured approval to redevelop the staff canteen into a 4 storey multipurpose building, with construction commencing before the end of 2024;
    x. secured approval for 40% discount/rebate for allocation of land, purchase of flats from Ministry of Housing and building plan approval for Civil Servants, amongst others.
  4. Member, International Bar Association (IBA); The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA); The Law Society of England and Wales; The Institute of Petroleum, United Kingdom; as well as the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM). Honourary Fellow, the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers. He is an ardent lover of sports, particularly, football and has played active football for Stationery Stores FC of Lagos; Leeds United FC in the United Kingdom; Lagos State Football Academical Team, as well as the Lagos State Football Team in the 1986 National Sports Festival. He was also the Captain of the famous St. Gregory’s College Football Team.

  6. Bode Agoro has travelled wide across the globe and has presented papers to a wide range of audiences at seminars and conferences, the latest which was at the 15th Annual Judges’ Retreat held in Brighton, United Kingdom in July 2024.
