Kenechi ESOMEJU is the Executive General Manager, People and Talent Management at TotalEnergies EP Nigeria Limited. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from the University of Nigeria and a Master’s degree in Communication Studies from the University of Leeds, UK.
She is a highly accomplished executive with over 30 years of experience in Human Resources, Communication, and Corporate Social Responsibility across the oil and gas and banking sectors. She currently leads the People & Talent Management function at TotalEnergies EP, where she drives strategy, organisation & performance, policy development & immigration, talent development, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, and employee relations & benefits.
Her career is marked by a strong focus on people-centered leadership and sustainable impact. She has spearheaded nationwide social investment programs that delivered measurable outcomes in education, health, and youth empowerment—working closely with NGOs, government agencies, and community stakeholders.
Kenechi has also held key roles in Public Affairs and Communications. She is known for her ability to align corporate strategy with inclusive culture-building. As a certified coach she has championed various initiatives like “Better Together,” which enhanced managerial coaching and employee development across the organisation.
Kenechi brings a global perspective to leadership. She serves on the boards of the Institute of Petroleum Studies and TotalEnergies CPFA and is an active member of several esteemed professional organisations, including SHRM, IABC, CIPM, and CIPD.
Her personal interests in the performing arts, photography, and wellness reflect a holistic approach to life and work.
