The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) has conferred its prestigious Fellowship designation on Mrs. Omorinsola Sofola in recognition of her outstanding contribution to human resource management and organisational transformation.

Mrs. Sofola is an accomplished human capital strategist and transformation leader with over two decades of executive experience spanning healthcare, hospitality, banking and management consulting.

She currently serves as Director of Human Resources at the African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE), a landmark tertiary healthcare institution established by Afreximbank in partnership with King’s College Hospital London. In this role, she leads AMCE’s people and culture strategy, supporting its mission to transform specialist healthcare delivery across Africa.

Her work focuses on attracting and retaining world-class talent, addressing Africa’s healthcare brain drain, developing sustainable workforce pipelines and building a high-performance, values-driven culture. Under her HR leadership, AMCE achieved Great Place to Work certification, demonstrating its commitment to employee experience, effective leadership and globally aligned workplace practices.

Before joining AMCE, Mrs. Sofola served as Country Human Resources Director for Hilton Nigeria and Director of Operations at Legend Hotel Lagos Airport, Curio Collection by Hilton. She led significant people and operational transformation initiatives that strengthened service excellence, revenue growth and profitability. Her contribution earned her recognition as Hilton’s Outstanding Human Resources Director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

As Partner, Strategy and People Transformation at Phillips Consulting, she advised multinational companies, leading indigenous organisations and public-sector institutions on workforce strategy, organisational transformation, performance improvement and leadership effectiveness.

Her earlier career included international human resources leadership within a leading Nigerian bank, transformation consulting at Accenture and financial services experience with Citibank in Chicago. She also serves as a Board Member of MART Group Health Services, where she provides strategic oversight to one of Nigeria’s pioneering healthcare and fertility service providers.

Mrs. Sofola is a Fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria and the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, United Kingdom. She also holds the Global Professional in Human Resources, Senior Professional in Human Resources and PRINCE2 certifications.

She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Illinois Chicago. She is married to a career diplomat and is a proud mother of two.

Her elevation to Fellow of CIPM marks another significant milestone in a career defined by professional excellence, transformational leadership and a sustained commitment to developing people, strengthening organisations and advancing sustainable healthcare systems across Africa.
