Mr. Bode Agoro, the Head of Service, Lagos State, is a lawyer, an Administration and Human Resource Practitioner, a Public Sector Strategist and a Public Speaker who possesses core competence in the fields of Strategic Human Resource Management, Conflict Resolution, Strategic Policy Formulation, Effective Task and Project Management, Change Management, Real Estate Management, Petroleum Law and Policy. He is a man who commands great leadership with effective communication skills.

He had over seven (7) years Private Sector experience under his belt, prior to joining the Lagos State Public Service where he has garnered over twenty-three (23) years Public Sector experience. Over the years, he has deployed his management skills and strategies in achieving organization’s objectives both in the Corporate and Government Agencies where he served. He is an advocate of Employees’ Welfare, Well-being and adequate Training, and an Initiator of the monthly Walk for Fitness Exercise for Lagos State Public Servants.

He holds the following:

i. Bachelor of Laws (LLB Hons) from the Leeds Metropolitan University, Leeds, England;

ii. Barrister at Law (BL) from the Nigerian Law School;

iii. Master of Laws (LLM) in Petroleum Law and Policy at the Centre for Energy Petroleum Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP), University of Dundee, Scotland;

iv. Certification in Public Private Partnership: Infrastructure in a Market Economy at the prestigious Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts, U.S.A;

v. Executive Education Certificate in Real Estate from The Said Business School at The University of Oxford, England

Having served the Lagos State Public Service form 2003 with remarkable achievements, Bode Agoro was appointed as the Permanent Secretary, Lands Bureau in 2015. He held the position for 8 years and was appointed as the 22nd Head of Service in Lagos State in September 2023.

As Head of Service he has overall supervision and control of the training, development, welfare, discipline of all Public Servants in Lagos State.

He is an Honorary Fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Estates Surveyors and Valuers, a member of the Nigerian Bar Association; International Bar Association; The Law Society of England and Wales; the Institute of Petroleum, London; and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM).
