Jahni de Villiers is an accomplished professional with 20 years of experience in labour relations, industrial relations, facilitation, and organizational development. Based in Pretoria, South Africa, she holds a Master of Laws from the University of South Africa and a Bachelor of Laws from Nelson Mandela University.
Jahni is the Director of Labour Amplified, a management consultancy that offers labour policy advisory services, dispute resolution, and public policy guidance. Her work with Labour Amplified has involved:
● Leading and participating in task teams at Nedlac in South Africa, including on the development of a new harassment code for South Africa and the review of South Africa’s labour laws.
● Facilitating a workshop on minimum wages for SADC employers.
● Helping to add the Comoros Islands to the SADC Labour Law Guide.
● Completing facilitator training on Business Economic Reforms to promote gender equality in African and Pacific Island countries.
● Representing South African employers at the International Labour Conference (ILC) for discussions on Quality Apprenticeships (R208) and Convention 190 (C190).
In June 2025, Jahni represented South African employers at ILC 113 for the Standard-Setting Discussion on Decent Work in the Platform Economy. She has been working with the platform economy since 2021.
Before starting Labour Amplified, Jahni served as the Head of Labour and Development at Agri SA, where she developed and implemented strategic plans related to labour and workforce development in the agricultural sector. She also represents employers as a National Minimum Wage Commissioner and deputy-chairperson of South Africa’s National Skills Authority.
Jahni is also known for her work in strategic communications, policy development, and multi-sector stakeholder engagement. Her expertise spans national and international labour contexts, having worked in countries across Africa, including Kenya, Ghana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Tanzania, and Jordan. She is a fluent English and Afrikaans speaker and is currently learning French.
