The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) hosted a distinguished dinner to celebrate the remarkable appointment of Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, MCIPM, OON, mni, as the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation. This event, attended by esteemed guests, government officials, and fellow civil servants, was an opportunity to acknowledge Mrs. Walson-Jack’s significant contributions to public service and her commitment to advancing human resource management in Nigeria.

In her heartfelt address, Mrs. Walson-Jack expressed her immense gratitude, stating, “I am truly honoured and humbled by the thoughtfulness of the leadership of our Institute in organising this special dinner. This appointment is a reflection of the grace and guidance of Almighty God in my life and career. I extend my deepest appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the confidence he has placed in me, which has made this celebration possible.”
Mrs. Walson-Jack emphasised the importance of collaboration between the Civil Service and institutions like CIPM, stating, “Tonight, we are not just celebrating an individual; we are celebrating the collective achievement of all civil servants who, through their dedication and service, continue to uphold the values of our great nation. The synergy between CIPM and the Civil Service is crucial for delivering effective services to the Nigerian people.”

The President and Chairman of the Governing Council of CIPM, Mallam Ahmed Ladan Gobir, FCIPM, also delivered a stirring speech, highlighting the importance of celebrating excellence. He remarked, “When people excel, they deserve to be celebrated. Mrs. Walson-Jack embodies excellence in public service and dedication. Her leadership will undoubtedly shape the future of the civil service, fostering a culture of innovation and resilience.”
Gobir further acknowledged the pivotal role of CIPM in supporting the civil service, stating, “We are committed to working closely with the civil service under Mrs. Walson-Jack’s leadership, offering our support in areas of capacity building and training to ensure the continued growth and excellence of our public institutions.”
The dinner served as a call to action for all present to recommit to nation-building, as Mrs. Walson-Jack concluded, “As we reflect on our successes, let us also remember our roles in ensuring that Nigeria continues to grow and thrive. Together, we can create a better future for our nation.”
