A bold new chapter has begun in the advancement of Human Resource and People Management in Nigeria as the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Ilorin.
The partnership marks a significant step toward strengthening the link between academia and professional practice, with a shared commitment to developing future-ready HR professionals, enhancing industry relevance and expanding opportunities for students and practitioners alike.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, the President and Chairman of the Governing Council, Mallam Ahmed Ladan Gobir, FCIPM, fnli, described the collaboration as a strategic move to position People Management at the forefront of national development. He noted that the Institute remains committed to fostering excellence through partnerships that drive capacity building and professional standards.

Also speaking, the Registrar/Chief Executive, Oluwatoyin Naiwo, FCIPM, Chartered FCIPD, emphasized the importance of aligning academic learning with industry expectations, stating that the collaboration will create a stronger pipeline of competent and globally competitive HR professionals.
Representing the University, the Registrar, Mansur Adeleke Alfanla, MCIPM, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting its potential to enrich academic delivery and provide students with direct access to professional development pathways.
In a related development, the Institute also inducted a total of 163 new members into its prestigious body. This includes 26 individuals inducted through the Executive Route and 137 individuals through the Practitioner Route, further reinforcing CIPM’s commitment to expanding its membership base and promoting professional excellence across all levels.
