Examination Results Challenge Process
Please note that both the testing and the associated marking of the CIPM Professional Examinations were automated. By implication, there was no human interference in the end-to-end testing and marking process, hence, no basis for human error.
In addition, the results underwent multiple stages of vetting and approval prior to release, thereby reinforcing the Institute’s quality assurance process
The global standard (ISO 17024) guiding the Institute’s certification process allows candidates to challenge their results. However, this provision applies only to failed subject(s).
This process serves as a guide for candidates wishing to request a review of their examination results:
- All applications for challenge must be submitted in writing via email to exams@cipmnigeria.org, addressed to the Deputy Registrar, Professional Standards and Practice.
- Applications must be received within two (2) weeks after the release of the examination results.
- Each application must be accompanied by proof of payment of the Administrative Charge of Twenty-Five Thousand Naira (₦25,000) per course/subject being challenged.
- Payments should be made to the Institute’s designated bank account.

- Send the evidence of payment to exams@cipmnigeria.org and finance@cipmnigeria.org
- Once payment has been confirmed, the candidate’s script(s) will be retrieved and subjected to a fresh evaluation by a different set of qualified examiner(s).
- Candidates will be invited to a session during which the examination questions they attempted, along with their submitted answers, will be extracted from the exam portal and jointly reviewed with them.
- If the review confirms that errors were made in the Institute’s initial grading decision, the necessary corrections will be applied, and the administrative fee previously paid will be refunded to the candidate. In the absence of grading errors, the administrative charge shall be forfeited.
- All appeal processes related to the examination results should be completed within one month after the appeal application.
