CIPM and CIPD Launch Mutual Recognition of Membership in a Historic Hybrid Event

Lagos, Nigeria — September 23, 2024.

The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) and the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) in the UK have today officially launched the Mutual Recognition of Membership in a highly anticipated hybrid event. The groundbreaking partnership, celebrated both physically in Lagos at the CIPM HQ office and virtually worldwide, marks a new chapter for HR professionals in Nigeria and beyond, offering members of both Institutes unprecedented access to global HR resources and opportunities.

This Mutual Recognition of Membership allows certified members of CIPM to gain automatic recognition as CIPD members and vice versa, expanding their reach, networks, and career potential across both the Nigerian and international HR landscapes. The event, which brought together HR professionals, thought leaders and policy influencers, highlights the continuous drive of both Institutes to enhance professional standards and advance people management globally.

Speaking on the significance of the partnership, the President and Chairman of the Governing Council of CIPM, Mallam Ahmed Ladan Gobir, FCIPM said:
