CIPM 3RD INTERNATIONAL ACADEMIC CONFERENCE – CALL FOR PAPERS

The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) calls on academics and HR practitioners from all over the world to submit their original articles for consideration for presentation at the CIPM 3rd International Academic Conference which holds on Tuesday, June 2nd and Wednesday, June 3rd, 2026, at the University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos, Nigeria.

Conference’s theme: AI in academia, industry and government: Navigating Ethics, Innovation, and Impact

Sub-themes

We call for original researched papers on the following sub-themes of the conference:

  1. AI Ethics in Practice: Evaluating ethical implications in research, industry, and governance.
  1. Human-AI Collaboration: Co-creating solutions for socio-economic challenges.
  1. AI-Driven Sustainability: Harnessing AI for SDGs in academia, industry, and governance.

Deadline for submission of abstract: 27th March 2026

Deadline for submission of full paper: 15th May 2026

Conference Dates: Tuesday 2nd and Wednesday 3rd June 2026

Note:

  • Fees for abstract submission: 10,000.00
  • Fees for full paper submission: 10,000.00
  • Conference fee: Physical attendance – 40,000.00; virtual attendance – 34,000.00
  • Best paper presenters attracts awards
  • Ph.D/M.Sc Colloquium paper presentation is also acceptable
  • Attendance attracts 10 credit points for licence renewal and 5 credit points for upgrade for CIPM members.
  • Certificate of participation can be used as a pre-requisite for academic route admission into the Institute.

The Objectives of the Conference:

  • Provide a platform for stimulating intellectual discourse on the shared perspectives of both the town and the gown through the harmonisation of the theoretical approach and practical application of people management practices.
  • Create strong avenues for HR professionals to learn from and grow with the Nigerian, African and Global academic communities, whilst at the same time, be able to draw the link into the world of work in which Human Resource Management is delivered and practiced.
  • Accommodate presentation of pre-qualified papers from the academia and each session would be chaired by a respected authority in the academic community.
  • Attract prominent academia and decision makers/influencers to the conference.
  • Bring together academia, captains of industries, policy makers, HR professionals, Administrators (both in the public private sectors), students, business owners, entrepreneurs for exchange of ideas on theories and practice of human resource management.
  • Provide participants with networking opportunities to share ideas in various areas of their discipline in regard to human resource management.
  • Provide participants with feedback on their research work
  • Acquaint participants with new ideas of knowledge in the field of human resource management.

GUIDELINE FOR SUBMISSION OF PAPERS

  • Abstracts and papers to be submitted for the academic conference must be original researched papers that have not been published and without any intention to be published elsewhere prior to the conference.
  • All papers to be submitted must be on any of the published sub-themes. The researched paper must explain the purpose, methodology, results, implications of the findings, conclusion, and recommendation.
  • Abstracts should not be more than 300 words
  • Authors of accepted abstracts shall be invited to write the main papers. Manuscripts must not exceed 20 pages typed in Times New Romans font size 12 with double line spacing
  • The abstract and papers must have the following information:
    • Title of paper
    • Name of Author(s)
    • Address of the Author(s)
    • Mobile number(s)
    • E-mail Address(es)
  • Text references should be cited in the body of the paper
  • Full references should be listed at the end of the paper using APA style (7th edition).
  • plagiarism check would be carried out on all papers submitted and any paper with more than 24% similarity index would not be considered

INFORMATION ON PAPERS

  1. All submissions shall be reviewed and evaluated based on originality, technical research, and relevance to the conference theme and sub-themes. 
  2. All qualified papers shall be accepted, and authors contacted for presentation at the conference.
  3. Papers presented shall be subject to further review before publication in the conference proceedings
  4. Cash Award shall be presented to the best three authors at the conference
  5. Outstanding papers shall be published in the Institute’s Human Resource Management Journal and the conference proceedings.
